Why are we so vocal about our fundamental rights but fail to accomplish our fundamental duties?

In the democratic world, the concept of citizenship has taken on new significance, depth, and purpose. While emphasizing rights, it’s also critical to be honest about one’s responsibilities to society and the country as a whole, particularly in terms of safety and security.
Citizens’ responsibilities have received a lot of attention globally. “Everyone has a responsibility to the community in which the free and full development of his personality is possible,” declares Article 29(1) of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The Ideal of Responsible Citizenship
Many countries throughout the world have become developed economies by embracing the ideals of “responsible citizenship,” which encompasses all of the responsibilities and duties that people of a country should exercise and respect.
Every individual contributes to the creation of a New India – a country that is clean, healthy, and prosperous. Everyone carrying out their responsibilities, even if only mechanically, would contribute to a better neighbourhood, society, and, eventually, country. Let us work together to make India more accountable.
The Realization of Maintaining Constitutional Rights with Responsibilities
Today, it is critical to emphasize the importance of remembering our constitutional responsibilities for the advancement of our country. Democracy will not be able to take root in society until citizens balance their inherent rights with their fundamental responsibilities. Let us remember the brave jawans and officers of our security forces who gave their lives in the line of duty in order to keep the country safe and secure.
Fundamental Duties must serve as a constant reminder of our national ideals and instill a deep feeling of social responsibility in all of us. Only by diligently carrying out our responsibilities can we live up to our full potential and contribute to the prosperity and progress of our country.
