Dutch athletes narrowly didn’t boost their tally of six medals on the ultimate day of the ECU Championships in Munich as they finished fifth within the overall medal table. Nadine Visser disregarded bronze within the 100m hurdles by 0.01 seconds, repeating her fourth place from Berlin four years ago, in an exceeding race won by Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska. ‘It still hasn’t sunk in,’ the 27-year-old after when it was said after the race. Dutch women claim six medals

On the opening day of the championships, Jessica Schilder and Jorinde van Klinken took gold and bronze respectively within the field event, while Nienke Brinkman claimed a bronze in the marathon. Across the 11-day multi-sport championships in Munich and Rome, which also included events in rowing, cycling, gymnastics, and beach volleyball, the European nation finished seventh, with nine gold medals, seven silvers, and 12 bronzes.

Finally Swedish superstar Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis didn’t disappoint and retained his continental crown within the field event with a championship record.
