The month’s all-time high temperature is 46.3 degrees Celsius; which was achieved on April 30, 1999. Last year in 2020 it was 43.7- 44.3.
The seven-day projection shows that the temperatures won’t go down below 40 till at least May 5 this year; but it does show a gradual drop in temperature from tomorrow onwards.

Haryana, Delhi, and western Uttar Pradesh are likely to log peak temperatures from Friday onwards; India Meteorological Department (IMD) senior scientist RK Jenamani told the news agency PTI.
North-western states like Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab; and Haryana may witness light rainfall and thunderstorm between May 2 and 4 2022. The maximum temperature will be between 36 degrees and 39 degrees Celsius, said Mr. Jenamani.
The heat weather has also prompted a power outage across the country; as demand has risen and coal supply issues have worsened.

India saw its warmest March this year since the IMD began. The national capital [Delhi] recorded a maximum temperature of 43.7 degrees Celsius on 18 April 2010.
