Barcelona’s Gavi showcased an impressive performance on the field. His extraordinary skills enforced Luis Enrique to comment on Barcelona’s win. He quoted that Barcelona’s semifinal win over Italy was ‘ not normal ‘. Well, the normality got violated as Barcelona’s midfielder came up as the youngest player to ever represent the country.
Barca fans found the future of the club in this 17-year-old debutant player. Gavi broke an ancient record of 1936 which was made by Athletic Bilbao’s Angel Zubeita at the age of 17.
Gavi is one of the three youngest Barca players which include Pedri and Ansu Fati. Although both of them are 18 years old and are senior to him. Gavi was into football from a very young age. He was 11 years old when he was plucked by Barca from Real Betis’ academy.
“ It was his first game with Spain, but we already knew all about him”, quoted Luis Enrique. Gavi played for about 85 minutes. Well, this was the maximum period that he has ever played in Senior football. The change was imminent just after he got tracked from Barca’s under 19 teams.
Moreover Pablo Martin Paez Gavira or simply Gavi made his debut for Barca in the previous session. He started as a substitute but eventually became the man of the match. The surprise inclusion of Gavi on Barcelona’s side made people quote, “ A star is born”. Even at this young age his personality and physical condition both are enviable.
He has only played thrice for the club’s B team in the third tier of Spanish football. Despite, having a bulk of the experience, Gavi has proved himself to be the future as well as the present of Spain.
