Twitter Left Bewildered, On Day 4 of the second Ashes Test match at the Adelaide Oval, with Australia reeling at 79/4 in their second innings, the England camp produced a surprise when fast bowler Ollie Robinson was observed bowling off-spin. With his sunglasses on, the lanky tall pacer even got some spin and bounce off the pitch, which would have made even Nathan Lyon proud. Robinson, in a rare instance of pacers resorting to off-spin, had the fans on their feet and glued to their seats, conceding only 2 runs to Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne. Robinson held his hands up and substituted his skipper’s off-spin with his own, having Joe Root out at the moment.
England’s Flying Start
England had gotten off to a flying start earlier in the day, with veteran pacers; James Anderson and Stuart Broad each taking a wicket to put Australia under some pressure.
Despite losing three wickets in the morning session, Australia finished the day strongly; at 134/4 in 44 overs at the dinner break. Head was steadily getting into his stride while batting at an undefeated 45, while Labuschagne was looking excellent at 31 not out.
Australian Lead
Australia leads by 371 runs and will try to extend; their lead before the end of the day’s play to put England out. The durability of the batters’ continuous connection could be crucial in determining; the target that England would chase in their effort to tie the series.
Before stumps on Saturday, Australia skipper Steve Smith chose against enforcing the follow-on; with David Warner the man run out after a mid-wicket mix-up.
Marcus Harris, the under-pressure opener, and nightwatchman; Michael Neser both finished unbeaten on 21 after surviving both that and a vital 17-over session under ligmomen.
