Tripura Police, Several complaints have been filed against two female journalists, Samriddhi Sakunia and Swarna Jha, by the Tripura Police Department, following certain allegations of suspected mosque vandalism and damage dealt.
According to sources, Tripura police, along with Assam police, detained two female journalists in Assam’s Nilam Bazar on Sunday for publishing or broadcasting reports based on fraudulent information.
“Two persons, namely Samriddhi Sakunia, daughter of Gopal Sakunia of Manwar Para, Jharsuguda, Odisha and Swarna Jha, daughter of Ratneshwar Jha of Rohini, New Delhi, were detained by Tripura Police with the assistance of Nilam Bazaar Police Station of Karimganj District, Assam on 14/11/2021,” according to a statement released by the police.
“They are purportedly journalists who arrived in Tripura on November 11th, 2021, from outside the state.” In the Kakraban PS Case No. 2021 KKB 082, their collusion was revealed.
According to the authorities, there were inconsistencies between what transpired in reality and how journalist Samriddhi Sakunia presented the material in her films.
After further investigation, authorities discovered that no Quran sharif had been burned in the prayer hall owned by Rahamat Ali, a Hurijala resident inside the Kakraban Police Station’s jurisdiction.
As a result, on the morning of November 14, 2021, she was approached by police over the phone and asked to provide information on the paper seen in the video. She said that the paper was found at the purported crime scene and that it was up to the police to find it.
The investigating officer also examined the house owner Rahamat Ali on Sunday, according to the received reports. According to sources, he stated that there may be some charred documents, which were carried away by a Delhi-based team who visited the scene in late October 2021.
