The chopper carrying Gen Rawat, who was appointed as CDS in 2019; and his entourage crashed in cloudy weather, killing all 13 people on board, according to the Indian Air Force.
Cause Behind The Accident and Treatment Of The Injured
One person was injured in the crash and is currently being treated in a hospital. According to police and defence authorities, the lifeless remains of the victims would; be flown from Coimbatore to New Delhi on Thursday, following a wreath-laying ceremony in Wellington. According to official authorities, the accident occurred as a result of poor visibility in the fog-stricken area.
