The Supreme Court issues its decision in the eagerly anticipated case of the Heera Group (Lawsuit) on November 10, 2022. In light of the case, the court has rendered a number of other decisions.
Key Features of the Court’s verdict on Lawsuit
1. The court ordered the separation of all Heera Group properties and reinstated the right to purchase those properties from the group on behalf of the business. The Heera Group now owns the Tolichowki land, which is valued at 900 crores of rupees on its own. It was taken away from the SFIO.
2. The Heera Group’s request for standing has been accepted by the court. A total of 400 crore rupees will be provided to the settlement after their submission has been verified. It should be noted that the Heera Group has already provided 900 crore Tolichowki property as security.
3. The court has instructed the SFIO authorities to handle every warrant that has been issued by lower courts concerning Dr. Nowhera Shaik’s business, both old and new.
4. The court has expressed concern about the TSFSL’s failure to submit the report on Heera Group data despite four years of effort.
5. The Heera Group and the SFIO authorities will work together to coordinate the settlement verification process.
6. To resolve the claims of the genuine investors, it has been proposed to form a committee with retired revenue officials and members of Dr. Nowhera Shaik’s Heera Group. The court also restored Heera Group’s right to sell their property, giving them full discretion over who they want to pay money to.
